Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disease. PCOS afflicts 5 to 10 % of women of reproductive age. The symptoms are: amenorrhea or oligomenorrhea(infrequent or very light menstruation) , insulin sensitivity, blood lipids, hirsutism (excessive hair growth), obesity, infertility,
chronic hyperandrogenic anovulation and acne.

Acupuncture has beneficial effects on live birth rate with very low incidence of side effects.  Recent studies demonstrated that traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture could regulate the menstrual irregularities, and induce ovulation, improve the uterus blood flow. My patient who diagnosed PCOS give birth 3 babies after acupuncture treatment.

Medical research find: when acupuncture needles are inserted to body with electrical stimulation, the peripheral nervous system transfers signals to the brain, Since CNS regulates pituitary hormone release,  acupuncture are suitable complement to improving endocrine and reproductive function in women with PCOS without adverse side effects.

The traditional Chinese medicine states that acupuncture restores the balance of Yin and Yang, In the point of view of modern medicine that the acupuncture restores the equilibrium of parasympathetic and sympathetic activity.
